Marketing Associate
Rae entered into the employee benefit market space over 25 years ago having just earned her BA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Texas in Austin. She began her career at Great West Life as a sales representative responsible for both selling and renewing self-insured health plans and 401k retirement plans. From 1996 to 2008, Rae qualified nine out of twelve years for the prestigious, annual sales, conference trips and was awarded various trophies for her performance. In 2008, after Great West was acquired by CIGNA Healthcare, Rae stayed on board for a little over a year but ultimately decided to leave CIGNA and join UnitedHealthcare (UHC) where she believed she could expand her knowledge base and challenge herself further.
As a UHC Key Account Executive, Rae was specifically responsible for selling new business health plans (both self-insured as well as fully insured). She continued to work with an assigned block of consultants, primarily targeting employer groups ranging from 100 to 3000 employees. Rae’s performance while at UHC afforded her the opportunity to attend several of the annual Pinnacle trips as well as qualify for many awards.
In 2018, although having experienced much success in each of her roles, she decided to resign from UHC to take a much-needed break from the world of insurance and to spend more time with her family. In late 2020, on the heels of the pandemic, Rae decided to re-enter the business market, but as a consultant verses that of an employee. She decided to re-direct her efforts, applying her skills on the brokerage side of the business as opposed to the carrier side.
Rae joined The Greensage Group in January, 2021 as an Associate on the ERISA Services side of the business. However, this was not the first time Rae worked with this group. Rae has worked with Gary and his team off-and-on for over 20 years now as their assigned carrier representative while working at Great West, CIGNA, and UHC. Her new role as an Associate at The Greensage Group is primarily to prospect for new clients (both Welfare and Qualified) who could benefit from the array of select skills the firm offers their client partners. The ultimate goal of Rae’s position is to help grow the business and increase the overall revenue of the organization.
When Rae is not attempting to conquer the insurance world, she enjoys spending time with her kids, her family and her friends. She truly values the relationships she has with people both at and away from work. Rae does her best to take advantage of every opportunity to connect with those she treasures most.
